A completely redesigned workout app with High Intensity Interval Training (Hiit). New features for swimmers like auto sets and gymKit an industry first. Gym Kits is activated just by tapping your watch against machine to get going and all your metrics will be in synch.
Of course this only works with compatible gym equipment, so many places which aren’t privately owned, old or community gyms are going to miss out on a great new feature. Still it’s nice to see an idea which hopefully will get some adoption.
One of the things that enables these fitness features is the Apple heart rate sensor ans according to Apple, the heart rate sensors is the most used heart rate monitor in the world, so no surprising most health enhancements are centered around just that.
Heart Rate App Enhancements, now you will see your heart rate right on the watch face and yoy can keep an eye on it with the raise of your write.
When launching the heart rate app you will see new measurements like resting heart rate, , Apple watch calculates this by correlating the background heart rate reading with accelerometer data. A lower heart rate and a quicker recovery time is always a good sign that health wise you are heading in the right direction.
Inspired from many customer who notice an unusually high heart beat when it’s not expected, AppleWatch has a new feature which will notify you when it detects an elevated heart rate when you appear to be resting.
Heart rate rhythm Normally the heart rate rhythm is nice and even with how it looks if you ever seen a machine which measures it. If it starts to peak irregularly it could be down to arrhythmia. The most common form of serious arrhythmia is called atrial fibrillation and at it’s worse can be the leading cause of a stroke. Most people don’t feel the symptoms so it can go undiagnosed. Such is the belief within Apple that the watch can help there is now going to be an Apple Heart Foundation.
Standford and the F.D.A are onboard with this idea and it’s great to see not only a commitment to health activities but something to help awareness of undiagnosed conditions.
