So what can you do with a Windows RT, A Stylus And Office 2013?
“Use your stylus as a laser pointer when presenting. Color your content and erase your mistakes with ease.”

Dictation and speech is one of the key features for Mountain Lion. Don’t expect Siri like searching functionality but more a handy feature to get down ideas with a double tap of your shortcut key. It might be basic but being able to dictate anywhere is handy and much easier than the Dragon Express “send too method”

Well it was going to happen sooner or later, images start leaking out of what the Mountain Lion installation process will look like. Here;s a couple of shots sent in via email.
So according to analysts reports, Samsung managed to shift 6.5m Units. Whilst the S3 might be outselling it’s main rival the HTC one X but let’s not forget the iPhone 5 lands in october. (figures from intomobile)
Apple btw said it sold 35.1 million iPhones in the quarter (source NYT)
“We’re thrilled with sales of over 35 million iPhones and almost 12 million iPads in the March quarter,”
said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. Who wouldn’t be 😀
Admittedly, the Nexus 7 needs a 3G version for true data portability, an absence which might deter some. Likewise, it can’t match the media choices of Apple or Amazon and it won’t give the massive battery life of an e-ink reader either. Even so, the Nexus is good enough to make it a logical choice for anyone thinking about a smaller tablet for reading or watching video while out and about, and it’s a steal at the price.

To think that 6 months ago we didn’t know Mountain Lion even existed and now the GM has been released. The Golden Master is pretty much Apple’s equivilant of a final release candidate and barring any real last minute issues, will be the same as what we get upon release.
Here’s a random news item that’s hit our in-boxes today. Orangutans at a Florida zoo are using iPads to communicate with their keepers. Staff at Jungle Island Zoo in Miami could eventually use the tablets to tell them what they want to eat.
It might be a little pointless writing an article that you might not see but this is to let everyone know… we are moving hosts over the weekend. This means DNS changes and some rather big data shifting. So over the weekend you might not be able to access EssentialMac but rest assured we’re pushing this along just as fast as we can.
It’s coming probably as no surprise to anyone that iOS devices take up the Lion share of all internet browsing. I can vaguely remember what the internet “was like” in a pre iPhone era. Who else remembers running Opera mobile on phones that ran some semblance of Java? Sure my HTC Touch Diamond fared better yet it was still an odd affair, layouts broken and slow. That’s what you get for purchasing a phone with a USP of windscreen wipers going across the screen when it was going to rain on the weather app.

A great story here about a programmer who had his project binned but still went to work everyday just to finish it off as a “challenge” to himself
Well this has to come as another blow who proclaimed Android as being an iOS killer thanks to Flash Support. New installs are being completely stopped on August 15th. So where does this put the just released Nexus 7 I wonder?

This was driving me nuts just the other day seeing as Apple TV is just about replacing my windows media centre. Every freaking time I pressed pause or play on the apple tv remote it would fire up something within iTunes. The option is nestled away but here’s how you stop your remote interfering with the Macbook or iMac
Apple let’s loose it’s own Podcasts app, breaking them free from being buried in the iTunes menu. Arguably it’s aimed at those who aren’t familiar with podcasts in general but it’s still not that bad even if it does lack some essential features.
