Hot on the heel of the mac release of XCOM: Enemy Unknown on the mac, The turn-based strategy game will be available for the iPhone (4S and 5), iPad (Mini, 2 and 3rd Generation) and iPod Touch 5th Generation from June 20.
The iOS version was developed by 2K China with the original developers, Firaxis, acting as executives over seeing the project. Hopefully this will mean it’s not some half baked port as can happen.
According to lead designer Jake Solomon, the iOS port will be the full strategy game released last year on consoles and PC, although it will launch with fewer maps due to file size limitations.
Multiplayer won’t be included on the initial release but has been touted for a future (paid for?) update
Priced at £13.99 ($19.99), XCOM: Enemy Unknown has been optimised for touchscreens, and will be playable across all compatible iOS devices.
