Hours after we news about The Daily app is going to close, Trinity Mirror has launched a free interactive iPad app for the Daily Mirror that will offer its readers the chance to catch up with the paper digitally during the week. In a move that is seen by many as a game changer, the digital iPad edition will be free in the UK, Monday to Friday.
“The e-editions are digital reproductions of the two newspapers but also include an array of impressive features such as video, expandable articles, interactive ads, 30-day archive, automatic overnight downloads (via Newsstand) and a live news ticker,” the newspaper group has said.
International users will get the option to pay for access.
“This is everything you’d expect from the Mirror and more. Visually it looks stunning and the interactivity brings a whole new depth to our content,” said Lloyd Embley, editor-in-chief of the Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror and The People, on the announcement.
“The e-edition is brimming with the energy and creativity that will extend the reach of our journalism to new and wider audiences,”?
Further features promised include video reports, interactive crosswords and the choice of accessing the Mirror’s 10 regional editions.
