The iOS App Store is a wonderful thing. So many apps to choose from for virtually every conceivable use. However, as there are now just so many applications in there discoverability can sometimes be a challenge. Case in point, Mark has often lamented about the inability to crop photos in iOS to specific dimensions. He was not alone in this search as I have heard other users complain about this apparent lack of the seemingly most basic ability.
GoEuro has launched a brand new free and easy to use app on Android and iOS, providing the best options for travel by train, coach or air, all at the simple touch of a button. You remember Onavo? The data compression proxy that compresses images and text to save on your data usage? Now Google Chrome for Mobile attempts to do the same within the browser, removing the need to install certificates and such.
That new shiny M7 processor is finding its way into more and more apps and now Day 1 the popular life journal / blogging app also supports M7 along with other feature in its iOS 7 make over.

iPad’s never had a system integrated Alarm clock since the iPad 1. The iPhone and iPod has an alarm clock but why not the iPad a question that’s left mystified many people including myself why Apple never included an alarm clock on the iPad.
Daft as it might seem but the inclusion of an Alarm Clock for iPads is quite a big thing. Most might see the iPad as a 3rd screen, a device for taking to bed or leaving on the side table so it would make sense it would have an alarm feature before now right?
Sure there are plenty of Alarm apps out there on the app store but where the iOS 7 kills them stone dead is that it’s system integrated meaning you don’t have to leave your iPad unlocked or, even worse, have the app running in the foreground and let it dim the screen.
iOS 7 Alarms
Quite simply the view is gorgeous taking a timelines and calendar approach to the whole time and alarm process.
Snoozing with iOS seven alarms
The ultimate dilemma approaches.
Here’s where I’m most torn about this News feature. On the iPhone you have to hit an exact area to silence the alarm when it goes off. On the iPad you simply have to touch anywhere on the screen Making it less of a mental challenge in the mornings so that’s probably going to lead to me laying in just a little bit to longer than I should should do.
My only concern overall is how is it going to look one or two years down the line? Sure it looks like a big brother called departure know that how long till the design style becomes old and stood ?
Sure Apple Maps wasn’t the best but it wasn’t that bad. Google Maps 2.0 for iOS and it’s finally starting to act like its Android brother in the features department. So, what’s new?

Microsoft’s long-awaited SmartGlass app has hit finally the iOS App Store. It is essentially a super-powered remote application for the Xbox’s entertainment features. It’s pretty much a souped-up version of Apple’s Remote App that can be used to control similar features in iTunes. SmartGlass, however, is cross platform – it’ll work on any tablet PC without a hitch. There are also a few extra features packed into Microsoft’s offering.

Those who blog on the go will be happy to know the WordPress app for iOS updated with a swishy sliding panels interface yet it’t not all good news in the 3.1 WordPress update. So for me at least it’s just a handy conduit to get ideas up on the blog before a final publish.
Simplicity can be the key at times with putting images on a website and this is where Zapd comes into it;s own.
V1.4 has just been released with the following updates
– Custom URLs are here!! Want to personalize your web address? You can do it now! Under Settings, choose a URL that you want and now you’ve made a custom website right from your phone!

Browsing on a mobile phone had been something of a holy grail for me being the geek that I am. The thought of checking in with websites and keeping an eye on my business at the time seemed great but until the iphone came along, nothing really delivered.
Safari on the iPhone was a great leap forward in browser innovation, rendering in a full desktop experience, nothing came close to what Apple squeezed onto a phone, however, it’t not without it’s drawbacks, being cumbersome and a touch heavy on older iPhones.
