Winamp, No longer to kick the Llama’s Ass

Winamp was the lightweight media player to go to for PC’s for many years, now 15 years later Winamp is to close it’s doors

Winamp.com and associated Web services will no longer be available past December 20, 2013. Additionally, Winamp Media players will no longer be available for download. Please download the latest version before that date. See release notes for latest improvements to this last release. Thanks for supporting the Winamp community for over 15 years.

Arstechnica.com has the scoop on it and it seems that AOL who bought winamp some while ago, never seemed to get a grip on Winamp. Internal politics seemed to kill Winamp slowly and surely showing AOL’s amazing ability to take something good and kill it stone dead.
