Well if you missed all the news that Apple let slip on their website, the iPhone 5 is now officially with us. It’s got everything the 4S has — but thinner, lighter, better, and smaller. This article is scattered to say the least so bear with me whilst I try to collate the masses of information from the Apple 2012 Announcement.
Apples Media Event on the 12th September certainly hasn’t disappointed and it’s been busy to say the least. With the new iPhone 5 a massive and long overdue update to iTunes the media event clocked in at 1hr 45 mins. Here’s the main information about the iPhone 5 you’ll be interested in.

All the iWork apps have been updated to take advantage of the enhanced display
- Old apps run letter boxed
- iMovie and Garageband also updated
- First party apps are optimised to take advantage of the new screen size.
- A few developers got early sneak peeks and their apps are already 5-optimized.
- CNN expanded their presentation to show more text. OpenTable’s photo galleries are there too.
- Ducati have designed an app to take full advantage of the real estate.
