This may sound a little flippant, but it’s the truth,” said the British designer. “Our goal and what gets us excited is to try to make great products. We trust that if we are successful people will like them, and if we are operationally competent we will make revenue, but we are very clear about our goal.”

Judge first insists Samsung Galaxy not as cool as iPad, but then wants Apple to promote Galaxy on their site??

For those not familiar with the goings on, a UK judge ruled that Samsung couldn’t of copied Apple’s iPad design citing “Samsung aren’t cool”  Samsung win the case due to ” real commercial harm,” Apple are now forced to run notices in the Financial Times, the Daily Mail, Guardian Mobile magazine, and T3.

This isn’t something to be sneezed at. Chrome for iOS which was released more or less a month ago is now claiming 1.5% of mobile internet browsing. Safari still rules the roost with 85.1% of market share, other??? equates to 13% share. On that stat if you have still yet to give Opera mobile a try you should do. Yes, it’s based on webkit like safari and chrome yet so many neat speed features INCLUDING data compression out of the box to make the most of data packages.

Samsung Vs Apple Second Quater Sales Results

So according to analysts reports, Samsung managed to shift  6.5m Units.  Whilst the S3 might be outselling it’s main rival the HTC one X but let’s not forget the iPhone 5 lands in october. (figures from intomobile)

Apple btw said it sold 35.1 million iPhones in the quarter (source NYT)

“We’re thrilled with sales of over 35 million iPhones and almost 12 million iPads in the March quarter,”

said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO.  Who wouldn’t be 😀

Admittedly, the Nexus 7 needs a 3G version for true data portability, an absence which might deter some. Likewise, it can’t match the media choices of Apple or Amazon and it won’t give the massive battery life of an e-ink reader either. Even so, the Nexus is good enough to make it a logical choice for anyone thinking about a smaller tablet for reading or watching video while out and about, and it’s a steal at the price.

To think that 6 months ago we didn’t know Mountain Lion even existed and now the GM has been released.  The Golden Master is pretty much Apple’s equivilant of a final release candidate and barring any real last minute issues, will be the same as what we get upon release.

A short roundup of the known stats of the Microsoft RT and Pro models vs the iPad. Strange that the industry is quite disputed on whether or not the Surface is something actually credible. What struck me for a predominately software based company, no actual software was displayed or really demonstrated during the demonstration. For every idea and solution pushed forward just as many questions are raised. Who will develop for Arm when an easier Windows platform exists?

Pirate Bay Blocked TalkTalk ISP blocks The Pirate Bay In The UK

Another one of the big UK ISP’s in the UK has started blocking access to The Pirate Bay.  The list of those blocking TBP now consists of TalkTalk, Virgin Media, Sky and Everything Everywhere.  02 are “working behind the scenes” to setup their court ordered bans.  Arguable the biggest ISP provider in the UK, British Telecom as been given more time to setup their black listing strategy but that’s not due till mid-june.
