Arriving on the 6th August the new Now TV box from Sky will give you an even better way to enjoy Sky’s movies, entertainment and sport offerings without the need of a dish or subscription.
One feature that was sadly lacking in the old Now Tv box was ethernet, no more streaming issues thanks to weak signals or interference.
The new box does support 1080p video however that’s for media streamed either from other services or media played from the micro SD card or USB. That’s not to say won’t be streaming 1080p, just not at the moment. However from a cursory demonstration watch (our review unit is hopefully on it’s way) 720p was as crisp as those other streaming platforms.
If streaming content from Sky without a monthly subscription wasn’t enough you can also access BBC iPlayer, YouTube, TV Player, All 4 and Demand 5 but not surprisingly Amazon and Netflix offerings aren’t available.
