App Review: Crop-Size

The iOS App Store is a wonderful thing. So many apps to choose from for virtually every conceivable use. However, as there are now just so many applications in there discoverability can sometimes be a challenge. Case in point, Mark has often lamented about the inability to crop photos in iOS to specific dimensions. He was not alone in this search as I have heard other users complain about this apparent lack of the seemingly most basic ability.

Fortunately my Google-fu must have been at superhuman levels yesterday as when Mark again mentioned this problem on the latest Rampant Mumberlings I thought I would do a quick search for such an application. Luckily I discovered an app called Crop-Size that appeared to do everything Mark was asking for.

What Mark had been asking for was an application that simply allowed him to specify and set the dimensions of a photo so he could crop to an exact size needed to populate his website postings.

Crop-Size appears to be the perfect tool for this task at a price that won’t break the bank. With a very easy interface it only takes a few taps to import your image, set dimensions, position the image and crop, then save it out at a desired quality percentage. The added advantage of this is that once you have your newly resized image you can use the plethora of editing apps available for iOS before finally exporting.

The app has many other features including some basic editing tools and filters. If you have been looking for an app that will easily allow you to size an image to exact dimensions this could very well be the app for you.
