Posts THE Essential iPad blogging tool Reviewed

Posts for the iPod is a shining example of how to write an app that encourages usage and instead of finding a use for it actually makes you want to use it.  That’s a pretty strong opening statement but thanks to the Posts App I’m using my iPad to blog more than ever before.

Normally I use WordPress for my blogging needs but there’s several features that annoy me so much I’d rather not use it.  Just in case you’ve never used WordPress, let me elaborate on some of the issues that I’ve had.

Tascam iM2 Stereo Microphone for iOS Review

TASCAM’s iM2 sets out to turn your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch into a high-quality stereo recorder so you not only record with higher clarity but also in stereo and directional letting you record what you want and not everything else around you.  On the Tascam website it’s not quite clear who this is for so let’s look at their claims and see how things sound.

Review, Hands On : YouView Humax DTR-T1000 PVR with IP-TV

For the last few months, I’ve been part of the YouView Humax DTR-T1000 beta testing; so unlike other reviews, this is an actual, proper hands-on review, complete with videos and images you simply won’t find on those other review sites that just rewrite press releases. This is a long one, so you’ll want to grab a beverage before reading.

Twitch.TV Working

Reviewed : Twitch.TV iOS app – Sigh, A frustrating mess but I’m hooked – UPDATE IT FINALLY WORKS!

Moving to the Mac means a great deal of pleasure / pain experiences, what you get in the way of a stable operating system, app store goodness and other cool features you feel the pain in other ways. Office sucks on anything but a high-end iMac and you sacrifice gaming in almost all senses when compared to pc counterparts. Sure steam gives access to some ports but Mac’s have never been well-known for their graphics card prowess.

Reviewed : MacAlly L-Dock Foldable iPhone Synch / Charging Dock3

I’ve come to realise I’m one of those people who have a slightly OCD to keep their iPhone in it’s best conditions possible. The slightest dink or blemish on my gear and somehow that’s all I can see when I look at my idevice which seems to get disproportionally bigger with each glance. As much as I try to place my phone down on my desk with care, occasionally in a rush, not as much care is taken as should be. This leads me nicely onto the MacAlly L-Dock which is a portable, Foldable iPhone Synch / Charging Dock.

Google nexus 7 Android Tablet

Reviewed : Google Nexus 7 Android tablet

Admittedly, the Nexus 7 needs a 3G version for true data portability, an absence which might deter some. Likewise, it can’t match the media choices of Apple or Amazon and it won’t give the massive battery life of an e-ink reader either. Even so, the Nexus is good enough to make it a logical choice for anyone thinking about a smaller tablet for reading or watching video while out and about, and it’s a steal at the price.

Reviewed : Nomad Brush Compose – It’s more than a stylus for the iPad (or tablet)

Steve jobs may have coined the phrase if you need a stylus you’ve blown it yet there are times when having the precision of what is technically a glorified pointy stick can be missed. To make life easier for the budding artists out there nomad released the Nomad Compose, an interchangeable, dual tip stylus that you can customise.

Denon AHC560R Box

Reviewed : Denon AHC560R In Ear Headphones with Remote & Mic

The Apple supplied headphones can be described as mediocre at best and I’ve long been on the hunt for a decent set of headphones without a bank balancing crushing price. I use my headphones everyday for long periods of time that would pretty much be considered unhealthy, so I was overjoyed when I discovered the Denon AHC560R on sale. But once again like my last headphone purchase, disappointment promptly welcomed me when I opened up the box.

Jaksta Video Converter Encoding Speed

Jaksta Video Convertor For Mac : Convert videos in minutes rather than hours?

We’ve all been there before I’m sure, arriving at that time where we have some videos / movies / tv shows/ family archives etc etc and we want to simply watch it on an iPad or the iPhone. More often than not this involves the time-consuming and incredibly boring as process of converting a video. So when I got wind of Jaksta video converter for Mac that claims to be able to convert a video in a matter of moments I had to give it the review treatment
