iPad Mini Arrives At Tesco

Tesco To Stock New iPad and iPad Mini From 2nd November 2012

As the first batch of new, NEW iPad’s and iPad Mini start arriving on door steps tomorrow, Tesco (the UK’s biggest supermarket) will also have stocks ready to sell from 8pm on friday. Let’s hope my local store gets the POS right and removes the iPad 2 banners this time. It was over 4 months before they changed the iPad 2 posters for the old, new iPad.

Really makes you think that if you can’t sell a product on it’s own merit without making detracting comments about other products, are you struggling to get your point across. Amazon seem to think that comparing the iPad mini is a sure fire marketing winner..  You too can have iPad mini envy when everyone else sitting around you has one.

Apple Announces The 4th Generation iPad – 2 x performance and same prices as before

Lets talk about the iPad.  Tim Cook’s back on stage “Each time we get together there is a new figure to show the growth and momentum.  2 weeks ago Apple sold its 100th million iPad.”

That’s over 2.5 years remember this category didn’t exist just 2.5th.  More iPads sold in the June Quarter than ANY pc manufacturer in that time line. Back onto the stage is Phil Schiller..

Apple Fusion Drive Details

A sneaky tech announcement here thats basically a hybrid flash drive but managed by mountain lion. The OS fits along with OS based apps on the flash part of the drive and Apps / documents are held on the traditional hard drive.  Other Apps and documents get stored onto the HDD.  Its optimising so the most recently used apps get automatically moved onto the flash partition.

The New Macbook Pro

Apple Special Event : A new 13” Macbook Pro With Retina Display

The news starts with the usual Mac VS PC market share.  The Mac outgrew pc market by 7 times and has been outgrowing pc market for 6 years straight.  Apple sure is mightily pleased with the momentum of the mac but aren’t standing still and are going to continue to innovate.  Phil Shiller (shelf filler) steps onto the stage.

Apple Forced To Apologise In UK for Samsung R&D (Rip Off & Duplicate)

One battle might have been won in the ongoing Apple v Samsung wars with Apple getting that $1bn win but in the UK it’s a different matter.  Apple loses their appeal against having to tell the UK that “samsung doesn’t copy apple”  Apple must take out major advertising placements in both national and local newspapers and place a notice on its website that states that Samsung did not copy Apple.

Flaregate : Apple has it’s say on the matter

Before I head into a long old rant about this, doesn’t sun refract like this when hitting any clear surface? For example a car window with the sun directly in front will cause a flare will it not?  I use my iPhone 4s exclusively for taking all the pictures at EssentialMac and guess what, if the sun is shining in the wrong / right place you get lense flare.  More often than not a few degrees of movement remove’s the flare.  Lense flare is cool anyways, look at the Transformers movies 😉
